Youth programs

All museum programs, events and tours, including public, school and homeschool group tours, remain suspended until further notice.

The Deer Valley Petroglyph Preserve offers a variety of youth programs throughout the year for all ages. Our event days in the Spring and Fall feature demonstrations, hands on activities and presentations that every member of your family will enjoy and learn from (see Events pages for more details). Other youth programs include camps, scout days, and special programming days throughout the year.

Home school groups

Home school programs are available for home-school organizations of 10 or more throughout the year. The home school programs include a guided tour of the museum, nature trail and petroglyphs, and a take-home craft activity.

Girl Scout badge days

The Deer Valley Petroglyph Preserve is a program partner of the Girls Scouts of America Arizona Cactus Pine Council. Throughout the year we offer patch and badge days in person and virtually.

The archaeological patch days take place over the course of an entire day and feature informational lectures, hands-on research activities and crafts, a tour of the museum and petroglyphs, and participation in a mock archaeological dig. Patch days are ideal for older Brownies and Juniors.
